Audio Reactivity
Q: Is it possible to use audio output from the iPhone/iPad itself? Like from SoundCloud, Spotify, etc?
A: Unfortunately no. For security reasons, Apple doesn’t allow apps to monitor audio from other apps.
It’s a frustrating limitation but we continue to explore solutions to this problem.
Pricing
Q: Why is it a subscription pricing model?
A: Unfortunately a one-time purchase just wouldn’t be enough to sustain Chromatose long-term.

Q: Is there an Android or Windows version available?
A: Currently there are no plans for Android or Windows versions.
Q: Is there an Mac version available?
A: Yes a Mac version is under development but we currently cannot provide an estimate of when it will be ready.
Q: Can I use my subscription on multiple devices?
A: Yes!
Your subscription is associated with your Apple account. You can use your Chromatose subscription on any iPhone, or iPad (and the future Mac version) that you are logged-in to. There’s no need to purchase additional licenses for each device.
Q: Is there a student discount?
A: We have activated “Apple School Manager for volume purchases”, which allows for a 50% discount to educational institutions when they purchase 20 or more copies of Chromatose through “Apple School”. Please contact the relevant person or department at your school responsible for such software purchases. You can also send us their contact information , we’d be happy to facilitate.
